Up-and-coming pop artist Charlee Remitz has just announced that her new album Garden will be out January 17. The new LP follows last year’s Sad Girl Music, which wound up garnering her wide acclaim and amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify. Since then, Remitz has gone through a lot, tackling abuse, anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and self-image struggles. But rather than succumbing to those problems, she’s opted to let them drive her into continue making music. She downloaded Ableton, taught the program to herself, and crafted every note on Garden on her own.
That sort of passion and do-it-yourself attitude can be heard straight away on the bubbling lead single “Pretty Genius.” The track features layers of electronic warbles, skittering beats, and an ethereal atmosphere for Charlee’s voice to embed itself in. Along with the single release, Remitz has shared the official video for the track, which features cross-cutting dramatic scenes built around the emotions of the song.
