UK artist Holly Humberstone is on the rise, releasing her third song “Overkill” to the world just a few days ago. Her music has been majorly influenced by both Lorde and Phoebe Bridgers, and she explains it to be “on the darker side of pop.” If you are a fan of Maggie Rogers, all of Humberstone’s music will give you the same types of feelings and vibes.
In “Overkill,” Humberstone sings about being over feeling like she is an overkill in her relationship. She has a lot on her mind, and she is trying to muster up the courage to tell her significant other that she loves them. “And my heart keeps racing, racing/ Still I’m over being overkill/ And you don’t have to say it back/I just wanna know where your head’s at.”
She was recently supporting Lewis Capaldi on his tour, which was cut short due to the pandemic. There is no speculation about an EP or album release, but in the mean time, you can listen to Humberstone’s other tracks, “Falling Asleep at the Wheel” and “Deep End,” that were released earlier this year.
