Electronic duo O Future (formerly known as OOFJ) have just released a strange, cinematic video for their newest single “Telephone.” The track is taken off of the band’s upcoming album Voyeur, which is set to be released November 14. The LP will also feature two other excellent singles “Smell You” and “Spy,” both of which further showcase O Future’s dreamy sonic soundscapes.
The duo of Katherine Mills Rymer and Jens Bjornkjaer fell into making music together by chance. They’ve already released two albums under the OOFJ name, and ready to take on even more listeners with this new chapter in their career. “Telephone” further exemplifies the pair’s keen ears (and eyes) for crafting beautiful and haunting waves of sound to pair with equally striking visuals.
Speaking of the track’s overall meaning, Rymer stated:
“It is about not having enough friends and yet hating phone calls and lying down on heavy carpets that have been freshly vacuumed. The only good and spicy phone calls come from a new lover, an old lover, a crush or your best friend. Maybe when you find out you inherited you dream house. That phone call would be great. But most times, 99 percent of times, no one calls. Except the fantasy cruise lines which declares…You been selected.. and you have won.”
