Super Whatevr is an alternative indie group with a pop-punk edge who just recently released a single called “Carhartts and Converse” featuring Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus.
The song features vocals from Hoppus and was also produced by him. “Carhartts and Converse” is about not letting the opinions of others affect your self worth, and Super Whatevr vocalist Skylar McKee is feeling a special sense of inner happiness being able to co-create with such an iconic musician.
McKee says “Y’all ever dream of creating art with someone you revere and respect? Yeah, I got to do that with Mark Hoppus. [He] was an amazing person to work with because he’s so open to facilitating these conversations, and he’s just a badass songwriter in general.”
“Carhartts and Converse” follows Super Whatevr’s release of their full-length album don’t you wanna be glad? via Hopeless Records (All Time Low, New Found Glory, Neck Deep) back in February. The album features a similar indie breeze as their new single, and the group does not seem to be slowing down on producing new smooth tracks.
