Ellefson drops cover of Post Malone’s “Over Now”

Ellefson, the solo project of mega-talented bassist David Ellefson of Megadeth, has recently released a vamped up cover of Post Malone’s hit song “Over Now.” This is a track said to appear on the band’s upcoming album, currently untitled, that is tentatively due this coming October.

Ellefson debuted with their compilation LP/CD Sleeping Giants in 2019 and recently released their single “Simple Truth.” With connections throughout the entire music industry, Ellefson has collaborated with artists from Nonpoint, Skindred, Guns N’ Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, and several others — an impressive feat for such a small list of productions.

Their slew of music-icon friends includes fellow artist Post Malone. “Posty has become a good friend to our camp,” says Ellefson vocalist Thom Hazaert. “There is not an artist who has come out in a long time that has impressed or influenced what I do more than Post Malone …  So, it was a huge honor to put our stamp on this song and pay my respects to what he does.”

David mirrored this sentiment, claiming “We’re all fans of Posty, and he’s also been a huge fan of Megadeth and all things Metal. Aside from being a great song for any genre, our cover of “Over Now” is our way of showing our mutual admiration and paying homage to our friend.”
