This past Tuesday, alt rock/pop/indie duo Entangled Dreams made the 2.5 hour trek from Wilmington to perform at the recently opened Tin Roof in Raleigh, NC. The duo is comprised of multi-instrumentalist twin sisters Michaela and Annabelle Sanchez, who have grown up performing music together over the past 10 years. With hundreds of shows, 2 full-length albums, an EP, and 3 singles under their belt, I was certainly excited to see what the girls had to bring to the stage, especially with this being my first time having the chance to watch them perform live!
As they took stage and began performing, I was immediately hooked by their engaging stage presence, hypnotic vocal harmonies, and razor-sharp guitar riffs. Not only that, but their ability to perform flawlessly while playing only electric/acoustic guitar, bass, and making full use of their vocal abilities made for an engaging, exciting, emotionally-driven performance throughout their entire 13 song set, proving that less truly can be more. However, this certainly led me to wonder how they might sound with a full band performing alongside them, as the energy/passion that radiated from them just as a duo was certainly enough to captivate anyone within earshot and leave you wanting even more!
Should you get the chance to catch the girls live, I highly recommend you make use of the opportunity, as you’ll surely be in for a unique chance to witness some of NC’s finest talent, who are quickly on their way to bigger and better! The band does play with a live drummer whenever possible, and is doing just that this upcoming Friday, the 31st at The ReelCafe in Wilmington! If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and give them your eyes and ears! You won’t regret it.
Entangled Dreams has big plans for new music this year, but for now their 2017 self-released full-length album, Afterthought is available for streaming below!
