Last Friday, Fiona Apple released her fifth studio album ‘Fetch the Bolt Cutters’. Much like how Apple’s previous works focused around the concepts of time and power through a strong feminist voice, her new album echos these same questions including those involving the patriarchy. In a similar “fight the establishment” manner, Apple credits John Lennon as one of her biggest influences in this record. Her vocal performance is highly impressive at a first listen and she seems to be exploring territories with her music that is untouched by many other modern artists.
