LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Electric Lady Sessions’ due out February 8, details revealed

LCD Soundsystem made a remarkable return to music back in 2017 with the release of American Dream. It was the first album or theirs to be released after they had initially broke up. And although people were wary of their return (why though?), they’ve now been a mainstay in the scene. Mostly, they’ve just kept on touring. But now that there’s a lull in their huge touring schedule, it’s time for some new music. A whole album’s worth! Well…not quite new-new.

You see, in November LCD had officially announced a new pseudo-live album titled Electric Lady Sessions. Given the title, it’s obvious that this is an album full of tracks the band recorded live in the legendary Electric Lady studios. Back when it was announced, the band had shared a cover of Heaven 17’s “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang” from the LP. They also said it would be out by the end of the year. Then things got silent.

But now here we are in 2019, and out of nowhere a listing on iTunes appeared, confirming all the details on the Electric Lady Sessions. For starters, it’s due out February 8. And now we have a full tracklist. It mostly features tracks from American Dream, but there are some other live highlights and surprises thrown in. Head down below to check out the album art and tracklist for Electric Lady Sessions. Also go ahead and give a listen to “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang” from the LP here.
