UK singer/songwriter extraordinaire Maisie Peters has signed to Ed Sheeran‘s label Gingerbread Man Records and announced her debut full-length album.

The album, You Signed Up For This, will hit the airwaves August 27th.

Fourteen track longs, YSUFT will feature her previously-released single “John Hughes Movie”, a track that earned Peters the #1 spot on the UK all-genres iTunes chart,  Top 5 in Ireland, and Top 200 in the US. Not too shabby.

About the album and working with Sheeran, Peters shared:

i feel like i’ve spent every day since i was 12 and picked up a terrible nylon string guitar and wrote my first song waiting for this moment. it’s been years of train rides and bus journeys, sleeping in spare rooms and on sofas, writing and writing and writing and writing and hoping that i could make something special and important and necessary. mainly hoping that i could make something i love. and i am so happy that i really can say with my whole entire heart that i l o v e this album

i love this album so much it’s absurd. i’ve been listening to it near constantly on those little blue £9.99 earphones u see in the artwork for a long time now, and i cannot stop telling people how good i think it is. it’s my favourite album ever. and the fact that it’s coming out on gingerbread is also insane to me; working with ed the past year and getting to call him a friend and mentor and collaborator has been the wildest dream, and i couldn’t be happier that myself and my album have found a home at gingerbread with him.
