This week is a WIN, with music from female powerhouses like Doja Cat, Lorde, Megan Thee Stallion and more. Check them out below:

Lorde – upcoming album and single “Solar Power”

Shockingly, Lorde announces her third studio album this week. Lorde describes Solar Power as a “celebration of the natural world”. She described its energy to her fans via email, saying:

“There’s someone I want you to meet. Her feet are bare at all times. She’s sexy, playful, feral, and free. She’s a modern girl in a deadstock bikini, in touch with her past and her future, vibrating at the highest level when summer comes around. Her skin is glowing, her lovers are many. I’m completely obsessed with her, and soon you will be too, it’s my divine pleasure to be introducing you, at long last, to my third studio album, SOLAR POWER.”

Kicking off this announcement, Lorde followed it with the release and music video “Solar Power”, which features Clairo and Phoebe Bridgers.

Megan Thee Stallion- “Thot Shit”

Megan is back! Hands swinging, Megan The Stallion is starting hot girl summer with the new single “Thot Shit”, which she previewed on Twitter with “TINA SNOW IS BACK” (her alter ego).

She also released an insane, aggressive, amazing music video following a shady politician (WARNING: end of music video is pretty graphic/ inappropriate). This quote is from the beginning of the video:

“Look mother*****. The women that you accidentally try to step on or everybody that you depend on. They treat your diseases, they cook your meals, they haul your trash, they drive your ambulances, they guard you while you sleep… They control every part of your life. Do not f*** with them.”

Doja Cat – “Need To Know”

A few weeks after releasing the euphoric “Kiss Me More”, Doja Cat released another song and music video off of Planet Her: “Need To Know”. With a few short teases for “Need To Know” on her Instagram, the song takes off with bluntly asked questions over a nighttime beat.

Polo G – Hall Of Fame

Chicago rapper Polo G released Hall of Fame, a much more versatile set of tracks for Polo G. This sophomore album features Nicki Minaj, DaBaby, Youg Thug, Pop Smoke, Roddy Rich, Fivio Foreign and more.

Jessie J – ” I Want Love”

This week Jessie J adds to the long list of female power with “I Want Love”, a gospel-fused, upbeat song.

Maroon 5 – Jordi

Maroon 5’s seventh studio album was released this week. Jordi, which is named after Adam Levine’s late childhood friend Jordan Feldstein, former band manager who sadly passed away in 2017. With a few songs devoted to Feldstein, the album acts as a tribute to Nipsey Hussle, YG and Juice WRLD, who is posthumously featured on “Can’t Leave You Alone”.

The album racks up a long list of features: Stevie Nicks, Blackbear, Megan Thee Stallion, Jason Derulo and more.
