There’s no “White Horse” in Eli Alger’s debut music video

Iowa raised Nashville-based country musician Eli Alger released his debut music video for his song “White Horse.”

Alger wrote the song with fellow country singer-songwriter Houston Fry while quarantining last year. The music video features Alger strumming on his GB7C Garth Brooks signature Takamine acoustic guitar he named Ol’ Ethel.

The way Alger puts it, the track isn’t so much about an albino stallion as it’s about the personal white whale that escaped forever:

The song is about the one that got away or the one you couldn’t get,” Alger said. “That’s what spurred it—during a drunk night of songwriting. It just blossomed into what it is today.”
