Zoe Wees has released the official music video for her second single “Girls Like Us.“
“This video hopefully shows both sides of how I’m feeling right now,” Wees explained. “I’m working hard on becoming the confident artist that I want to become, but I’m still a young woman, like many others, who’s always a comment away from being knocked back down. This video is that pain, but also the drumbeat for the empowerment I feel.”
She continued, “For me it was the hardest feeling to grow up in a world that you feel doesn’t accept you. We all have insecurities but this is what makes us beautiful.”
“We’re walking through a world with blinded eyes. At the end of the day we all go to bed without make-up with the ugliest clothes and wake up with the messiest hair on earth.”
At only 18-years-old, the German singer/songwriter is already blowing up, with “Girls Like Us” getting exposure on James Corden’s Late Night Show and Zane Lowe’s first play.
